We require a new permanent member of staff in the role of Academic Practice Tutor (APT). This role has been created to ensure there is a specific focus on programmes in improving the student experience by contributing to the delivery on courses, relevant, inspiring and thought provoking approaches.

You will work collaboratively with Course Leaders and Tutors contributing to the delivery on programmes of all the academic practice skills relevant to support in the challenges our students face throughout their modules to ascertain specific delivery approaches required to provide the best experience for students. You will be engaged with personal tutoring, to small groups, and you will participate positively in writing innovative assignments; provide genuinely robust feedback for improvement, and ensure you are maintaining your professional development.

Applicants should have a minimum of a Master’s Degree or equivalent industrial experience in the relevant subject. Experience of teaching and supervising student project work would be essential, as would possession of a recognised teaching qualification (or be willing to gain one). 

The successful candidates will be highly motivated self-starters and able to communicate with students, tutors, employers and academia at all levels.

Duties include teaching on and preparing materials for a range of undergraduate and/or professional programmes. Academic practice tutors are sought for courses that run during the day, evenings and/or at weekends through blended learning and delivery approach. You will also provide support to senior academics for module delivery and assessment as well as Outreach activities and Open Days.
