Information Specialist (Maternity Cover)

The Directorate of Digital Technologies is looking to appoint an enthusiastic individual to join a team of innovative, responsive and creative staff who provide cross-College support on the use of learning resources and digital technologies. The successful candidate will provide support to staff and students at the point of enquiry via Information Desks, social media, VLE, eMail, telephone and face-to-face. Support includes delivering workshops, providing one-to-one support and designing content for online delivery. In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of physical and virtual collections within designated subject disciplines.

The successful candidate will have a degree or postgraduate qualification in Librarianship or Information Science. a research- or library-relevant qualification, excellent communication and customer care skills as well as the ability to work individually and in a team environment.  Duties will include providing access to physical and electronic resources and information services for staff and students, promoting services and communicating using a wide range of social media, and maintaining appropriate study environments.
