Perth College UHI is one of Scotland’s leading colleges of Further and Higher Education, and a large partner in Scotland’s newest University, the University of the Highlands and Islands.
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Lecturer to join our Food, Nutrition and Textiles Education degree team. The successful applicant will work with an established and innovative team to deliver the degree which educates future Home Economic teachers for Scotland. This role will primarily be focused on the support of our students in school placements through the degree programme. It may also involve some delivery of taught modules.
You will be a GTCS registered teacher of Home Economics and have extensive recent experience of working in this role in a school. It is important to be both proactive and adaptable in your approach and be able to contribute to an excellent student experience on the programme. It is likely that a significant part of programme delivery will be online and/or blended and therefore knowledge of a VLE and online delivery would be advantageous. As you will be part of the team who support student placement visits travel will be required. These placement visits will take place during the school day so the successful candidate will have availability preferably at least 2 days per week to undertake this activity in term time.
If potential candidates wish an informal discussion about this role, please contact Jillian Elder, Sector Development Director at jillian.elder.perth@uhi.ac.uk
Closing date: 12 noon on 19th August 2021
Please Note: It is anticipated that Interviews for this role will be held week commencing 23rd August 2021.
This post undertakes regulated work with children and a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme check is required. A check will be made against the list of those barred from working with children.
