Lecturer – Civil Engineering and Built Environment

35 Hours (1 FTE), Permanent contract

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated member of staff to work with us as a lecturer within the School of Construction and the Built Environment on a permanent basis. You will be based at Inverness Campus.

Job Purpose:

We are seeking a lecturer to work within our School of Construction and the Built Environment delivering on our Civil Engineering and Built Environment Programmes. The successful person will contribute to teaching, research and linking with industry for innovation and knowledge transfer. Your research specialism could be in, or related to, for example, sustainable construction, environmental policy, or civil engineering/construction challenges in rural and remote areas.

The post includes teaching on our undergraduate programmes, together with developing and delivering on our approved postgraduate Civil Engineering programme. In addition, the position includes research, knowledge exchange, and administrative roles as specified by the Head of School.

Essential Criteria:

• Civil Engineering related qualification to at least SCQF Level 11.
• Have relevant industrial and research experience in sustainable construction, environmental policy, climate change and energy or civil engineering/construction challenges in rural and remote areas.

You should also be flexible, reflective, innovative, creative, and personally committed to continuing vocational and professional development.

You should possess effective interpersonal skills and have good IT skills in applications such as MS Office and other relevant subject related software packages.
