Kirklees College is a large successful FE college, currently Ofsted graded as Good. Operating across Kirklees with centres based in Huddersfield and Dewsbury.  
 
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within a modern building, with excellent on site facilities, such as a fully equipped gym, hair & beauty salons and fine dining restaurant.

Hours: 37 per week, over 52 weeks

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, passionate and innovative individual who has the ability to work with both 19+ and 16-19 year old learners as part of a large, dynamic and successful team within a well-established Further Education college.

Working across sites as a part of the maths team, and covering 16-18 study programmes, adult provision, apprenticeships and community learning provision, you will make a significant contribution to the effective delivery of the maths curriculum and to ensure a high quality and relevant learning experience for all students.

The main responsibilities of the role will be to teach maths related subjects at any of the college centres and to develop programmes of study to meet the particular needs of client groups served by the college. The successful candidate will also be required to assess students in accordance with the requirements of the programme and to contribute to systems of quality and advice, and assist in the effective organisation of the department by the proper establishment of such syllabuses, schemes of work and records as may be necessary.

The qualifications deemed essential for the post are:

• A relevant up to date qualification in subject area at Level 3 or above in maths or a related subject.

• Minimum of Level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy (e.g. GCSE English and Maths at grade A*-C).

• A level 5 teaching qualification

As a learning organisation and as part of our commitment to your continued professional development we may require you to complete an apprenticeship standard or framework that relates to this opportunity. The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is also essential for the post.
