International Delivery Lecturer – Electrical and Electronics

Hours: Full Time, 35 hours per week

Perth College UHI is one of Scotland’s leading Colleges of Further and Higher Education, and a large partner in Scotland’s newest University, the University of the Highlands and Islands.

We are looking for an experienced Electrical and Electronics Lecturer to join our growing international delivery team. Perth College UHI has many partnerships with other Higher Education Establishments across the globe and this role will involve teaching in these institutions in support of our international programmes. A key part of this role will be delivery to our overseas student both online and in country for prolonged periods of time.

As a lecturer you will contribute to shaping the future of the next generation of engineers through teaching and other scholarly activities such as research and consultancy. Within your specialisation, you will be responsible for: preparing materials for learning, teaching and assessment; for the teaching of theory and practical aspects; supervising student project work; and contributing to the development of the UHI programmes in Engineering. A key component of your role will be the evaluation and enhancement of the international programmes as well as the monitoring of student progress in each of the partner institutions

Candidates should as a minimum hold an honours Degree in a relevant discipline. Previous teaching experience is desirable as is an ability to teach across broader engineering disciplines. Industrial experience and experience of delivery in other international programmes would be a strong advantage as would a background in renewables. In addition, you should be a well- motivated self-starter with good communication skills who is able to work effectively with a team. A strong customer-focus and an awareness of the engineering requirements of industry are essential.
