Air Service Training (Engineering) Ltd, more commonly referred to as AST, has been providing aeronautical engineering training to the world’s Airlines, Maintenance Organisations and Military formations for 90 years, in which time it has developed a reputation for innovative, effective, and high-quality training strategies to meet industry needs.

AST currently holds Part 147 Aircraft Maintenance Training and Examination Approvals from UKCAA, EASA and CAA Nepal.  AST delivers training across the Category A and B group which includes Piston and Turbine Aeroplanes, Turbine Helicopters and Avionics.

AST is seeking to recruit a Deputy Training Manager (DTM) for our facilities based in Perth, Scotland.

The DTM will take day-to-day responsibility for the management of AST’s training activities under the guidance and leadership of the Senior Training Manager, who will retain overall accountability for the achievement of committed deliverables within agreed budgets, quality, and regulatory requirements.

The DTM will be responsible for the full course planning and scheduling of all training and examinations at Perth against instructor availability and competency together with the most efficient utilisation of classrooms and training resources.  The DTM will also be responsible for ensuring the continuing validity of all instructor authorisations and for the ongoing training and development of all instructional staff via CPD and update training.

The DTM will be responsible for providing support and information to Sales and Business Development regarding the development and delivery of prospective new courses and training opportunities with regard to the human and physical resources.

The ideal candidate will have a background in aviation related training, and a track record in developing individuals to deliver high quality services to our corporate customers, our students, and sponsors.

Whilst the DTM might be expected to have existing experience in aviation and / or engineering training, the AST management team are open to candidates with different backgrounds who feel they can achieve the required deliverables.
