Perth College UHI is one of Scotland’s leading Colleges of Further and Higher Education, and a large partner in Scotland’s youngest University, the University of the Highlands and Islands.

Due to a forthcoming retirement, we are seeking an experienced, forward thinking and innovative Sector Manager to lead the Hospitality and Food Studies team Perth College UHI. The successful candidate will possess significant practitioner experience and a detailed understanding of further and higher education in Scotland. They will also possess demonstrable industry experience and have extensive networks in the Hospitality industry. The ability to lead and support teams to provide excellent learning and teaching is central to this role particularly in this challenging time in our sector. The Sector Manager will lead a complex curriculum area ensuring that the offer, both core and commercial, is continually developed and enhanced to support economic recovery and crucially meet the needs of learners and industry stakeholders.

The Hospitality and Food Studies team deliver both full and part time programmes from SCQF level 4 through to SCQF level 10 across both Hospitality and Professional Cookery. This includes an Initial Teacher Education degree preparing Home Economic teachers for the future. The department also delivers commercial activity and is engaged in a range of practical Schools programmes. The curriculum is delivered in partnership with our catering provider in our Food Court along with an in-house training kitchen and restaurant facilities. All in, an exciting and diverse curriculum area which delivers an excellent student experience and strong results.

You will have demonstrable experience of leading a team effectively and be able to provide a high level of support to academic staff. It is essential that you have the ability to execute operational and where required strategic decisions, manage complex issues and problems and have experience of stakeholder engagement. You will have excellent organisational and communication skills and be skilled at developing working relationships at all levels.
