SGS College have an exciting opportunity for a Level 3 Media Make-up & Hair Lecturer at our Filton campus. SGS College have an exciting opportunity for a Level 3 Media Make-up & Hair Lecturer to join the existing provision across FE and HE levels at our Filton campus.  This role would suit BA/FdA graduate from a related make-up degree course entering teaching.  You must be willing to obtain teaching and assessors qualifications within 2 year (full time posts) or 4 years (part time posts) of commencing employment.  Ideally the applicant would have some experience of delivering training and vocational experience within this specialist field.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

To undertake all forms of pedagogic work which may include classroom and online teaching, tutorial work, assessments, and support student placements.  

To ensure the associated organisational and administrative work, preparation and marking, and evaluation is undertaken.   

To maintain the high standards set within the department, including contributing to the development of the curriculum. 

To provide the appropriate student welfare and academic/non academic counselling responsibilities.

To undertake an annual teaching workload of contact hours, as detailed in the College workload agreement.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

You will need to be qualified to at least BA/FdA or equivalent in Media Make-up & Hair.

Ideally the applicant would hold a teaching or assessors qualification (or gain these qualifications while in post); have some experience of working in the Media Make-up Industry, and experience of delivering training or teaching in a similar environment.
