Various hours, up to 37 hours per week, 35 weeks per annum, usually agreed on a termly basis.

Reaseheath College prides itself on its inclusive approach to student support, assisting an increasing number of learners with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities to access Further Education. 

The Learning Skills Centre (LSC) team provides essential support to learners. It works in partnership with curriculum staff across the college in all areas to support students to overcome any barriers to learning and help them to realise their potential.

The College is looking for adaptable people who have experience of successfully delivering support and guidance to young people and vulnerable adults to join its LSC team. You may have experience of having worked professionally with young people and/or vulnerable adults in an educational or care setting, which you could bring to the team. 

Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of the impact of specific learning difficulties, mental health difficulties and disabilities on learning, an understanding of issues to do with diversity and social inclusion and a high level of interpersonal and communication skills. GCSE Maths & English Grade C or above (or equivalent) is essential. Previous experience in a support role and experience of MS Office applications are essential.

You may be required to provide both individual and/or group support to students in classroom based and practical sessions.

There is likely to be some flexibility in hours, however each assignment and expected hours of delivery are agreed on a termly basis. Usually staff are utilised for the whole academic year, however there is no obligation placed on candidates to accept each assignment offered.
