SGS College’s Creative and Innovation Department have an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer in Graphics and Digital Design.

We are looking for a practitioner with experience in Arts who has a fundamental interest in contemporary practice and new digital media. Working closely within an established Art team who pride themselves on learner achievement and creative exploration, you will liaise with other tutors to design a series of projects to run throughout the year.

Candidates must be organised, enthusiastic and be able to think strategically for the benefit of their learners. A strong lecturer/practitioner who has the experience and desire to drive the quality of our provision forward, and who can act as a role model whilst teaching their course and students by example.

You must possess the ability and passion to raise learner success and retention rates and inspire our learners to have high aspirations for themselves, as well as motivating staff to deliver high quality lessons in both a theoretical and practical environment.

The successful candidate will have professional experience in both the creative and the educational sectors, and have a strong understanding of the contemporary creative environment.

We are passionate about Arts education and this drives our desire for innovation and success, both on a student level and for the staff.

The successful candidate will need to be able to work to different specifications and awarding / validating bodies. Liaising with administrators, teachers, tutors, middle and senior managers, you will be an adept communicator with exceptionally high standards and an unrelenting focus on improving all aspects of the learner’s study programme. Experience of course leadership, tutoring, coaching and mentoring is a bonus.   

You will have a track record of delivering high success rates and have demonstrated the ability to manage a course/cohort within this curriculum area. We are looking for a person who can inspire and challenge students and staff.

The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Disclosure Certificate, Enhanced with Children’s Barred list check, as a requirement of the job.
