We are looking to recruit an adaptable, self-motivated and engaging professional to support students to achieve high standards of attendance, punctuality and ultimately achieve their full potential.

As a member of the engagement and pastoral support team you will work with a range of students to identify strategies to positively engage, motivate and support students to be successful. The post holder will be responsible for supporting college staff in driving attendance and attainment across the College.

The role will include using the Colleges’ MIS systems to monitor and track attendance, liaise with parents and students regarding non-attendance and developing action plans to help get students ‘back on track’. A key focus of the role is to provide effective pastoral support interventions and manage a case load of students that are at risk and require coordinated interventions.

A level 3 professional qualification in either Education, Health, Social Care or Youth Work and experience of working in a pastoral care role supporting children, young people and families would be an advantage.

As an individual you will be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.

Blackburn College values diversity and is committed to creating a diverse workforce.

Closing date for applications: 5pm on Thursday 23rd August 2018.

Interview Date: Wednesday 5th September 2018.
