Askham Bryan College is a specialist land-based college based across the North of England with centres in York, Middlesbrough, Saltaire, Wakefield, Newcastle and Penrith.
We offer a wide-ranging curriculum to our Further Education students, including Agriculture, Horticulture, Agriculture, Animal Management, Countryside and the Environment, Engineering, Equine, Floristry, Motorsport, Professional Tree Surgery, Outdoor Adventure Sport, Sports Development, Coaching and Fitness, Uniformed Public Services, Veterinary Nursing and Hair and Beauty.
In light of the recently published government strategy for Careers Guidance in FE Colleges, we are looking to appoint a Careers Leader for Askham Bryan College. The role is to plan and implement a strategy for developing a careers programme for the college that meets all eight of the Gatsby benchmarks of good practice and prepares young people for the choices and transitions in education, training and employment.
With a Level 6 Diploma in Career Guidance and Development, you should have experience in further education and employer based work related learning, as well as a sound knowledge of the requirements of the relevant statutory guidance. Excellent communication skills and proven experience in delivering careers advice to 16-18 year old cohorts are essential to the role as is experience of developing and delivering strategies and operational plans to senior leadership.
Successful applicants will require an enhanced DBS check.
