Due to some very exciting changes; we are introducing this brand new role to the University of Surrey International Study Centre. This is a fantastic time for the centre as it prepares to introduce its new pre-master’s programme, making this a challenging, varied, and interesting opportunity to be involved with.

What is this role and where does it fit in?

Reporting into the Cluster Director, this is a key role that will provide academic and operational leadership to the team responsible for designing and delivering the University of Surrey International Study Centre’s portfolio of programmes. This role will take ownership of the Academic Standards and Quality Assurance, and student experience within the centre, ensuring that the highest standards are met. The role will lead the relationship with the partner university in respect of operational and academic management matters. As well as this, the Centre Director will take responsibility for Course Approvals, changes, and oversight.

 What experience do you need?

We are looking for an adaptable, driven, innovative, and motivated leader with extensive leadership and management experience in a teaching and learning environment, with proven success in driving positive change. You will have the ability to adapt in an ever changing environment, whilst adopting an approachable, team player mentality with the staff.

  • Leadership and management experience in a teaching and learning environment
  • Experience of teaching in UK higher or further education
  • Experience of leading and facilitating change
  • Experience of planning and running complex education courses and programmes
  • Experience of partnership working or partnership management in the education sector
  • Ability to operate within quality assurance frameworks or to quality codes
  • Understanding of UKVI rules and guidance
  • Bachelor degree
  • Teaching qualification
  • Leadership and management training (Desirable)

Where is this role based?

Our University of Surrey International Study Centre, based in Guildford, is based in the heart of a beautiful campus that is extremely picturesque with a calm, peaceful atmosphere. The centre offers an International Foundation programme, a Pre-Masters programme, and English language preparation courses. There are a variety of pathways offered on both programmes as well as a variety of students from all across the globe.
