What is this role and where does it fit in?

The University of Sussex ISC is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive tutor in Life sciences (Neuroscience, Neuropsychology, Biology) to confidently deliver pre-masters and foundation teaching. The ability to develop and update teaching material and experience of working within a Virtual Learning Environment is essential. The successful candidate will be instrumental in maximising students’ learning and achievement and in ensuring a positive student experience.

What experience do you need?

  • Candidates should hold a minimum of a Masters degree in a Life Sciences discipline (preferably neuroscience or a related field).
  • A teaching qualification would be advantageous to this role.
  • A student-centred approach, good interpersonal, IT, and organisational skills are essential. We are seeking an individual who is passionate about contributing to our courses and a strong team-player.
  • Experience of teaching students within an international context is also highly desirable.

Where is this role based?

This role is based at the University of Sussex International Study Centre. The campus offers a unique combination of tranquillity and energy. The centre is surrounded by a beautiful national park, yet at the same time we are a short train or bus journey from Brighton. Brighton has fantastic transport links, so you'll easily be able to explore the rest of the UK and Europe.
