Catering Assistant

37.5 hours per week, 5 days over 7 (shift work), 25 days holiday (plus Bank Holidays).

Our eating outlets provide a service to our students during term time and to visitors and guests during holiday periods. You will work as part of our busy catering team in the College’s kitchen and eating outlets across the campus. Delivering excellent customer service, you will assist with the preparation of meals, food service, dish and utensil washing, general cleaning and other tasks associated with catering.

A flexible approach to your working hours is required as you will be working 5 days over 7 with one hour unpaid break each day, which includes weekend and shift work between the hours of 7.00am – 9.00pm. Throughout the year there will be events and functions taking place across the College, which within your role you will be required to support. Many of these events will be at weekends, so you will be expected to be flexible, as it may require a change to your working pattern, in order to ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained at these events. In return we offer free meals whilst on duty, free car parking and uniform.  A Food Hygiene Certificate is required, however, the College will fund and organise this training, should you not currently hold this.

There is access to both public and College transport on site, this guarantees travel to and from the College to Gloucester in line with catering working patterns.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment.  All successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Scheme checks along with other relevant employment checks.
