Here at Peterborough Regional College Group are always on the lookout for talented and enthusiastic individuals. We want lecturers who can inspire our learners and equip them with the skills they need to go on and have a successful career in their chosen field. The key responsibilities in our lecturing roles include:

  • Delivering high quality teaching and learning.
  • Guiding and supporting learners, providing pastoral support and care.
  • Providing appropriate teaching and assignment material for each programme.
  • Monitoring the progress, retention and achievement of learners.

We run programmes from entry level functional skills through to Level 2, GCSE (foundation and higher), and HE (English Literature); we also work with apprentices delivering English, Maths and ICT. Predominately the age group within this area is 16 to 18 year olds but we do have 19+ classes.

To become a lecturer within our team you will need at least a Level 3 qualification in your specialism and preferably have some experience in an environment working with young adults; however, you do not need a teaching background as support is given to achieve your Level 5 teaching qualification. You’ll need good organisational and planning skills, patience and the ability to use a variety of teaching and learning methods to motivate our learners to exceed expectations.

We support a range of working opportunities from full time, part time and casual hourly contracts.

*The starting salary for non-qualified lecturers is £24,915, rising to £27,281 on achieving your teaching qualifications (2 year course). Once you have qualified there is opportunity to progress your career within the College and our Curriculum Leaders top salary point is £34,340 per annum.

Peterborough Regional College is committed to safeguarding the welfare of all students. All recruitment is subject to pre-recruitment vetting including an Enhanced Disclosure from the DBS. We aim to develop a workforce that reflects the diverse community we serve and positively encourage applications from all.
