We are based at Greenwich Peninsula in an iconic building next to The O2. Our aim is to become a portal for talent across London driving growth in the knowledge economy and creative industries.
We are looking to strengthen our team with the following appointment:
Ravensbourne is looking to recruit an ambitious, creative and future-thinking Senior Lecturer to join our dynamic and fast growing Graphic Design course. The successful candidate will contribute to the learning and teaching across all three year groups of the BA (Hons) Graphic Design course, as well as contributing to the delivery of graphic design units and cross-disciplinary activities within Ravensbourne.
The successful applicant will have a first degree or post-graduate qualification in a relevant subject, with good professional knowledge and experience (both creative and academic) in graphic design. The candidate will possess excellent organisational skills and the ability to engage students with their chosen industry will be essential.
Students on this course are introduced to many novel ways of thinking and concept development. They explore audience, platform, format and context, considering materials and the medium. Through experimentation and enquiry, their approach reflects on the past, challenges the contemporary and anticipates the creative future. The successful applicant will be expected to have an understanding of nascent technologies as well as up to date skills in the areas of visual content creation, typography, editorial design and information design, working across a range of analogue and digital formats. The ability to co-develop and co-deliver an innovative curriculum, using a variety of engaging teaching and learning methods utilising Ravensbourne's excellent prototyping facilities is key.
Interviews: 9th November 2017
