Your role is invaluable to supporting students at WCG who are deaf or have hearing impairments. You will provide specialist support within students’ learning programmes, dedicating your time to students in the classroom. You will provide communication support, note taking, interpreting British Sign Language and acting as a Learning Mentor. This aims to encourage the deaf student to achieve autonomy and as far as possible operate with independence within their environment to promote confidence and achieve success on their course. This role requires you to be qualified to a minimum of Level 2 in British Sign Language and you will hold English and Maths GCSE at A-C grade or equivalent qualifications. This is a zero hour’s position during term time only.
