The Role
Ealing Hammersmith & West London College is continuously striving to improve the learning experience of all students at the College, and our Head of Student Services will be at the forefront of this journey. The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of the College strategy for student services, fostering social and economic success in line with the college's overall mission. You will strive to improve the lives of our students through education, training, skills and development. Ensuring we provide the highest standard of learning experience for students. You will lead and manage the Student Services department, and have overall responsibility for the planning, resources, services and delivery in the department.
You will develop and maintain responsive cross-College Services which underpin recruitment, retention, achievement and progression and establish and monitor service standards for all areas of the department. Ensuring the delivery of, for example, IAG, careers advice, pastoral care and enrichment advice, you will ensure that we deliver continuous improvements in the range and quality of services provided.
The Person
You will be a proven leader with significant successful experience of management of a Student Services provision, a track record of developing staff and improving services and an in-depth knowledge of the needs of 14-19 and post 19 learners. Fully aware of the relevant resources and funding for the provision of Student Services and with the ability develop links and partnerships with employers and outside agencies, you will also have:
- A level of education and qualification appropriate to the role
- The ability to lead, motivate, develop and successfully manage staff
- Sound understanding of effective support systems to meet students' needs
- Appropriate knowledge and skills related to the provision of student services
- A high level of administrative and organisational ability
- The ability to manage budgets and meet financial targets
- Significant experience of management of Safeguarding and acting as lead safeguarding officer
- The ability to oversee relevant Health and Safety matters in co-operation with colleagues
