Requirement to work over Stroud, Filton and Berkeley Campuses
37 hours per week (part-time applications may be considered)

South Gloucestershire & Stroud College has an excellent reputation for delivering further education and work-based programmes in a range of subjects – from business to sport, engineering to media, GCSEs and A Levels to degree level courses.

Our experienced and passionate staff work hard to help our students achieve their personal challenges and career goals. We are proud of SGS and committed to making the College the best it can be. We are currently working hard to achieve “Outstanding” status after being classified as “Good” in our first inspection.

SGS College’s Human Resources Department have an exciting opportunity for a commercially focused, pragmatic HR professional to join our team and thrive in this challenging and busy environment.

The College’s HR function provides a comprehensive, proactive, customer focused, service that takes account of emerging business needs and ensures consistent and fair practices are applied. The successful candidate will therefore be robust, resilient and committed to providing a high quality service, understanding and addressing customer needs and will also have the ability and appetite to coach and motivate others in the provision of a proactive service.

An essential part of this role will be to proactively develop the HR service in response to future business needs, changing circumstances and legislative requirements. Critical to success in this role will be a strong track record of working closely with line managers to provide professional guidance and support in dealing with sometimes complex employee relations issues and organisational change. Therefore candidates should be intellectually agile, curious and have the tenacity to pick up on issues and be creative in researching and developing solutions.

Relationship building and influencing capability is of course of paramount performance and candidates should be articulate and have the ability to adapt their style to build effective relationships with all stakeholders.

Ideally CIPD qualified, but it is of more value that candidates have proven operational HR experience at Human Resources advisory level, with up-to-date employment law knowledge, flexibility and the ability to juggle multiple projects.

Closing Date: Monday 29 April 2019
Expected Interview Date: Tuesday 7 May 2019

The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Disclosure Certificate, enhanced with children’s barred list check, as a requirement of the job.

South Gloucestershire and Stroud College welcomes applications from all sectors of the community and is an equal opportunities employer.
