SGS Academy Trust have two exciting opportunities for a Learning Support Assistant.

As part of the South Gloucestershire and Stroud Academy Trust (SGSAT), SGS Pegasus School opened in September 2017 providing a genuinely innovative school for children and young people with autism.

At full-capacity, the school will cater for 80 pupils (Primary and Secondary phase), who can access the national curriculum while still receiving the specialist support they need. We are absolutely committed to ensuring learners leave the school feeling fulfilled and able to play a valuable and contributing part of society.

The Trust are passionate in their belief that our pupils should have the same opportunities that most of us take for granted – nationally only 15% of young people with autism go onto university, further education, training or employment. However, our vision is that SGS Pegasus School will exceed this national figure.

We are seeking an outstanding Learning Support Assistant (LSA) as soon as possible who can inspire our pupils, work closely with families and be part of the SGS Pegasus team. Our Learning Support Assistants (LSA) are employed from 8.30am – 4.30pm with a 30-minute lunch break. To ensure continuity for our pupils, LSAs are be part of a rota for playground and lunch duties. We will ensure you receive the support and breaks you need during the day but we are looking for LSAs who are flexible to fulfil a variety of roles throughout the school day. We offer a comprehensive training programme to develop our LSAs skills and knowledge.

SGS Academy Trust is a Multi Academy Trust, which was formed in response to the request of the Regional Schools Commissioner, Sir David Carter in November 2014. South Gloucestershire and Stroud College sponsor the Trust, and their size and range of expertise forms the basis of the support for schools within the Trust.
