Askham Bryan College is a specialist land-based college based across the North of England. Our campus at Newton Rigg is set in the heart of Cumbria.  Surrounded by breath taking fields and farms it is at the centre of the farming community. It trains and develops a wide range of learners from the county and across the country.

The Department of Engineering is looking to recruit new staff members to teach across a varied and interesting range of programmes in Land Based Engineering at both Level 2 and 3. The College would consider both full time and part time applicants.

We are ideally looking for candidates with specialisms in the following:

  • Health and Safety in the Workshop
  • Applied Mechanical Principles
  • Land Based Operations
  • Services and Repairs to Engines
  • Mechanical Power Transmission Systems
  • Repairs to Hydraulic Systems and Components
  • LB Vehicles Chassis Systems
  • Repair of Suspension Systems
  • Specialist Land Based Workshop Practices

Ideally qualified to Level 3 in Engineering (in either light or heavy vehicle maintenance), the successful candidates will have well-established work related experience. Teaching and assessing experience is desirable, as is a recognised teaching qualification but full training will be provided as part of professional development.

Above all, we are looking for someone with a strong understanding and competence in Engineering disciplines, and who has a real enthusiasm to pass on that knowledge and skill to others.

In return we offer a competitive remuneration, 35 days annual leave and genuine continuous professional development in a progressive and friendly working environment where staff are considered our most valuable asset.
