Maternity Cover commencing August 2019

This role will be based within the Skills Team but involve working with the Partnerships Curriculum Area  and focuses on supporting the 14-16 year olds enrolled on the College's Junior Apprenticeships programmes.  The delivery models range from level 1 to level 2 with learners working towards vocational qualifications as well as GCSEs in Maths and English. The post holder would need to be resilient and effective in supporting learners who have been identified as at risk or vulnerable by their School.

You will plan and deliver curriculum content for learners studying to  improve their basic literacy and numeracy skills. You will possess a relevant degree or equivalent together with a PGCE certificate, or be prepared to obtain. With excellent interpersonal skills you will have the ability to relate to diverse student groups learning to improve their literacy and/or numeracy.  In addition, the successful candidate will have previous experience of working with young people with complex social, behavioural and or emotional difficulties.
