Milton Keynes College is delighted to have secured the new Prison Education Framework Contract for the Long Term High Security Estate (LTHSE) and South Central region. The College will commence delivery of this new contract from 1st April 2019 in nineteen prisons across the breadth of England.

We currently have a vacancy for a full time Funding and Data Officer to work predominantly with our Prison Education Teams in prisons in the North of the Estate, whilst supporting the wider Prison Services team as required across the whole of our provision. This role would suit a highly organised professional, with an excellent eye for detail and a methodical approach to daily tasks.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the financial sustainability of the Prison Education Services contract by collating and completing monthly monitoring reports, providing analysis on student recruitment, retention and success data, carrying out on-site audits of student enrolments and achievements, whilst working with managers and administrators to improve performance.

As a successful candidate you will have

  • A relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Good IT skills with experience of Word Processing, spreadsheets and databases.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel including use of VLOOKUPs, IF Functions and similar.
  • Experience of working with and analysing data.
  • Experience of audit and driving improvement in data sets.
  • Accuracy and precision in data compilation and presentation.
  • Experience of working to deadlines, and of reporting to management teams on a regular and ad hoc basis.
  • Sensitivity to the complexities of prisons as closed institutions and have the ability to work positively within the inherent restraints.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • The ability to motivate self and others.
  • The ability to plan, communicate and problem solve effectively.
  • Good organisational skills.
