Learning Support Assistants

Activate Learning promotes independence to enable learners to leave the College ready for the world of work. A range of courses and support is available through numerous programmes to include LLD/D, ASD Centre to mainstream Level 3 and beyond.

As a Learning Support Assistant you'll be supporting learners across a range of courses as well as offsite provisions and be responsible for their wellbeing. No two days will be the same! You'll be participating in timetabled activities and providing personal assistance to learners. With your strong communication skills you'll establish good working relationships with learners to enable the learner to build and develop their confidence and motivation.

As part of the College team you'll be assisting the tutor and learner to ensure that the learning is appropriate to meet their needs.   You'll be joining a committed team who are student-focused and provide high-quality learner support across the College.  It's a fast-moving, dynamic environment and you'll enjoy the variety of change whilst also having the opportunity to develop good relationships with both staff and learners.

It's a demanding, yet rewarding role and at Activate Learning we recognise the importance of ensuring that all staff are trained and continue to have access to on-going personal and professional development. You'll be assigned a personal mentor and be part of a team-wide training programme.  Whilst experience is preferred it is not essential, as it is the commitment and desire to work with our learners to improve their learning experience that really counts!

We have three vacancies for part-time Learning Support Assistants, term time only, based at our Reading campus.
