Marketing & Events Assistant

We are looking for a proactive and organised Marketing and Events Assistant to join our growing team.

As the result of recent mergers our group of colleges has grown to cover Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Surrey, and we are looking for the right candidate to come in and work within our Marketing Team.

The role will lead on marketing and communications activity at our Bracknell and Wokingham College campus and help the Marketing Team to deliver events across our group.

Role purpose:

We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills to work with staff and students across our Bracknell and Wokingham College site and support marketing and communications functions via our various channels. This will include website, intranets, plasma screens, print collateral, video, social media sites.

As part of a growing team there will also be opportunities to get involved in wider communications and marketing campaigns and work with the Group PR and Communications Manger to generate and manage media interest in the college and wider Activate Learning group.

Helping to deliver fun, engaging and high-impact events will form a big part of the role, and we want someone who will be able to support with the delivery of these, including setting up online assets, overseeing the production of marketing materials and managing the delivery of the events and any issues that arise.

This is a great role for someone starting out their career in marketing and communications, with lots of opportunity for development and progression. The ideal candidate will be organised and able to manage multiple demands on their time.

We are a busy team with lots going on at any time, so you will need to be able to think on your feet and solve problems that come at you, without needing explicit instruction.

This role will be primarily based out of our Bracknell and Wokingham College site but there will be opportunity to work across our other campuses in Oxford, Banbury and Reading, which means a UK driving license may be helpful but not essential.

One of our big focuses is around growing our brand and we feel that social media is a great platform for us to engage with current and potential learners, so the person for this role will need a good all-round knowledge of the various channels and how we can use them to better position ourselves.

As the eyes and ears for the Marketing Team at our Bracknell and Wokingham College campus, you’ll also be responsible for helping to find student and staff stories to fill these channels and promote Activate Learning.

Some previous experience of working in a similar role is desirable but not essential, but ideally you will have a degree or diploma in a related subject or transferable experience in a similar area.
