Perth College UHI are seeking an experienced and GTCS registered teacher of Home Economics as an Education Lecturer and Programme Lead for our Undergraduate Honours Degree in Food, Nutrition and Textiles Education. This innovative new degree provides the only undergraduate route to a teaching qualification for Secondary Home Economics in Scotland. The degree was developed in consultation with the profession to provide graduates to address the national shortage in Home Economics teachers. The programme recruits directly into year 1 and via an HNC in Professional Cookery in to year 2 The first students began in August 2018 and the first semester has brought positive feedback from students and schools. The postholder will have responsibility for the further development and teaching of the degree. The college are seeking an inspiring teacher of Home Economics with evidence of leading curricular innovation in school and ensuring success for pupils in SQA exams.
