Director of Curriculum Design

Activate Learning is a pioneering education group which exists to transform lives through learning. Our approach is rooted in a clearly articulated learning philosophy, which helps thousands of people to unlock their potential every year.  

We are currently recruiting for two senior leaders to join our Technology Faculty, a Director of Career Pathways and Director of Curriculum Design. Each year the Faculty helps nearly 2,000 apprentices, further education and higher education students in the Thames Valley to prepare for careers in the digital, engineering, construction and automotive sectors. We work with employers such as BMW, Peter Brett Associates, Skanska and Cisco to develop inspirational learning opportunities for our students. 

Director of Curriculum Design 

The Director of Curriculum Design will lead our teams to create inspiring, innovative programmes of learning that help students develop the skills they will need for successful careers. Their design ideas will be informed by the skills needs of local businesses, the latest evidence-based methods in teaching and learning, and our learning philosophy.  

The successful candidate will be an experienced education leader, with a deep understanding of business-led curriculum models. A background in the digital, engineering, construction or automotive sectors would be advantageous, but more important will be their ability to create new curriculum models that meet the needs of businesses and our learners. 

You will receive a salary of between £50,000 - £60,000 per annum depending on experience, plus benefits which include; 35 days holiday plus bank holidays, access to government pension scheme. Travel benefits as part of salary sacrifice, access to discounted on-site gym and salon’s at some of our group locations. Flexible choice of base location of Oxfordshire or Berkshire, with the need to travel to other locations within our group.
