Teacher / Lecturer in A Level Maths

18.5 hours per week.

This is an exciting time to join Wakefield College as we celebrate the success of our recent Ofsted inspection, where we achieved a rating of ‘Good’.

We have an excellent opportunity for a Lecturer in A Level Maths to join a growing team of highly committed A Level teachers in a positive and supportive environment where staff enjoy a good sense of camaraderie and have high expectations of themselves and their students. The A Level team enjoy their own Sixth Form building with base rooms, where resources are available and readily shared within the team and weekly team meetings are held to ensure clear communications on key issues.

Our Wakefield Sixth Form has a strong academic ethos; working towards excellence for our students and helping each individual to achieve their full potential. As a Lecturer in A Level Maths, you would teach and coordinate A Level Maths, which is currently taught using the Edexcel specification. You would also be a tutor to a group of about 20 A level students.

We are looking for an outstanding professional who is passionate about teaching and learning and can inspire our young mathematicians and help them to achieve their goals. You’ll hold a degree in Mathematics and, ideally, have a good track record of success, with the ability to motivate and enthuse students to ensure they reach their full potential. We will also consider applications from newly qualified graduates who demonstrate the skills and attitude to fit in with the college ethos. You should also be well organised, show good initiative and be a good team player who is happy to participate in departmental events and introduce useful ideas to contribute to the ongoing development of the department.

Benefits include:

  • Generous Annual Leave
  • Discounted Metro Card Scheme
  • Good Pension Scheme
  • Excellent Training & Development
